Went out for lunch... initially was skeptical to sit as could see an empty restaurant but got a nice and warm welcome. Soup of the day was served and was awesomely hot in this cold weather. Noodles and ginger chicken freshly made with green salad side was fulfilling and yumm.... will visit soon again Ambience is not the best but warm n cozy place View all feedback.
What Michelle M doesn't like about Lanponi Thai:
I highly recommend AGAINST the panang curry noodle here. The noodles are like spaghetti, bean sprouts are sour and soggy, and they used what looks like canned and frozen vegetables only. It tasted sour and the consistency was like soup, not curry. I hope I don't get food poisoning from trying it. Honestly, I would probably steer clear of all veggies here, if you must eat from this place. View all feedback.
I genuinely want to enjoy this place. The food isn't bad, but the man at the front is quite unfriendly. He was rather abrupt and rude. We attempted to be friendly and polite, but after visiting a few times, it became clear that they seem to take issue with us bringing our young kids. I always make an effort to ensure that my children behave appropriately, especially in restaurants. I hope they recognize that they are running their business in Sammamish, where many families with small children live, rather than in Capitol Hill.
I strongly advise against trying the panang curry noodle at this restaurant. The noodles resemble spaghetti, the bean sprouts are sour and mushy, and it seems they only use canned and frozen vegetables. The dish has a sour taste and a soupy consistency rather than being a proper curry. I'm worried I might get food poisoning from this experience. Honestly, if you have to eat here, I would recommend avoiding all the vegetables.
I went out for lunch and was a bit hesitant to sit down since the restaurant was empty. However, I was greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. The soup of the day arrived steaming hot, which was exactly what I needed on this chilly day. The ginger chicken with noodles, paired with a fresh green salad, was both delicious and fulfilling. I will definitely return soon! While the atmosphere could use some improvement, it is still a warm and cozy spot.
The top local Thai restaurant in the Plateau! The food is consistently outstanding, and the staff is always friendly and courteous. Since we moved back to the Plateau, my wife and I love to indulge in Lamponi at least once or twice a month.
I have been frequenting this family-owned restaurant in the Plateau since 2004, and my experiences there have always been fantastic. The staff consistently greet me with warmth and friendliness. Recently, due to COVID, I've been opting for takeout more often, and they've handled the transition remarkably well. The food is always prepared on time and arrives hot! Thank you, Lanponi!
