Was Chris C at Olive Citrus a mag?
My visit to the restaurant was pleasant. Went on a date night and was recommended the A5 steak which was very pricy so I was hesitant at first but my server Kiara reassured me that it was worth it. Also, had the mushrooms appetizer alongside the cheeseboard which the mushrooms plate could have had a more seasoning but the cheeses were delicious. When I got the steak, I was shocked by the size of it but when I tried i... View all feedback.
What F Z dislikes about Olive Citrus:
The atmosphere and dining staff are pleasant. The food presentation is decent. We ordered two fish dishes—branzino and ahi—but were quite disappointed. The fish didn't taste fresh, and honestly, the California Fish Kitchen offers comparable quality for a quarter of the price. They overdid the garnishes, which left us feeling uncomfortable. We have consistently enjoyed the food at this restaurant each time we've visited. The brunch is of excellent quality, and the variety of dishes offered is very inviting.
We had to remove the excess garnishes just to enjoy the actual flavors of the dishes. When I raised my concerns about the branzino, they kindly replaced it with pasta, but it was just okay—too greasy and not worth the price. On a positive note, the bread and burrata cheese were good. Overall, we were left unimpressed.
This place is expensive, the food is good, but the service is extremely slow. We waited for an hour for our food to come. They offered us no compensation for this ridiculous wait. Where was the management? Where were the owners? We will never go back here.
Birthday dinner. Party of 5. The restaurant was very accommodating as we needed to change our reservation last minute and they gave us a different table we preferred upon our arrival. Food was outstanding. We had steak, risotto, pasta, some seafood andappetizers. We loved everything, esp. the appetizers. Cocktails were very good too. Lovely evening but no birthday treat.
So sad to say that this place used to be one of my favorite places to go in Redlands. Unfortunately, it seems their management and/or owners have absconded, and left the place to a bunch of staff members who don’t care if the whole place goes up inflames. I don’t think I’ve seen a more poorly run establishment. And now that their food quality has gone down, as well, this review seemed long overdue. We waited about two hours for our entrees to arrive, with no updates from our waitress. Wefinally asked her if perhaps they had forgotten about us, and she seemed offended and told us that there were some delays due toa large party. Didn’t seem to care at all that we’d been waiting patiently for so long. She didn’t even offer to takesomething off our bill or give us a complimentary dessert (I’m not someone who tries or expects to get free stuff, but thiswas an exceptional situation where any well-run place would’ve done something nice to inspire us to return). Finally our foodarrived, and it wasn’t even good. The pasta dish was so oily I couldn’t eat much of it. And the prices for this place areout of this world- I’ve gone to nicer restaurants on the coast for less money, with exceptionally better service. If you wantto charge high prices, in the inland empire, you really need to have exceptional service and high quality dishes. Don’t wasteyour time and money here. We won’t be back.
