I ordered the California Burger with Beyond Meat and vegan cheeses, cheesy tots topped with vegan cheese, and a Dr. Pepper. The menu wasn’t very clear about what was vegan, but the staff were friendly and helpful in guiding me through the vegan options. The tater tots came with melted vegan cheese slices on top—they were a decent side, though I’m not sure I’d order them again. Each vegan cheese upgrade cost an extra $2.50. The California Burger, made vegan, is a great choice if you enjoy Beyond Meat. It was melty and delicious, just how you want a grilled cheese to be, with nicely toasted, crunchy bread. The restaurant is situated on a pedestrian street between Orange Street and N. 5th Street, featuring colorful umbrellas overhead and outdoor picnic table seating, creating a relaxed atmosphere.
After not having a vegan grilled cheese in a while, I was delighted to discover a grilled cheese spot in Redlands offering several vegan sandwich options. Upon arrival, my husband and I were warmly welcomed and promptly took our order. I tried the vegan Margherita sandwich, featuring marinara sauce, a vegan traditional grilled cheese, and California tater tots topped with vegan cheese, thousand island dressing, and grilled onions. On my second visit, I enjoyed the samosa grilled cheese accompanied by three sauces—my favorite being the sweet sauce—as well as the caprese grilled cheese. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and satisfying. We will definitely be returning soon.
Cheesewalla serves up mouthwatering vegan options that feel indulgent. I sampled the tater tots and a special called the "California Burger," which was made with either Beyond or Impossible burger protein, vegan cheese, and sauce on toasted bread.
The search for parking was dreadful, but the restaurant itself is fantastic. It has a small interior for ordering, but seating is available both inside and outside the building. My husband ordered a jalapeño popper, my grandpa had mac n cheese, and I had the Margherita pizza. We all sampled each other's dishes and they were all delicious. I even dipped my sandwich in my tomato soup, it was that good. I left feeling completely satisfied from my meal alone.
