Pelican's Nest by the Bay - REDLAND BAY

Haven't been to the area for some years and were looking for an old favourite seafood café which has since closed so decided to try Pelican's Nest. So glad we did as the food was really good and very reasonably priced. Typical café, line up to order and given a remote decoder that buzzes when food is ready. Quite a popular spot, we thought we'd be waiting for some time but the food was ready in 10 minutes. The location is right on the Esplanade looking over the Bay and as it was a warm, blue sky with the blue water we couldn't have asked for anything better even at twice the price. Try it!

Don't be fooled by the proximity to the seaside indicating good fresh fish. Our family picnic opposite on the foreshore, with 3 grandchildren, Son & two daughters plus 3 granparents was ruined by inedible fish, it was like rubber the plastic cutlery we were given could not cut the fish, the chips were passable. The young girl taking our order was very nice & helpful, but that could not make up for fish that must have been frozen some time before it was subsequently ordered & cooked, we will never go back

Wow! Beautiful day, beautiful place, great food, and great friends. What could be better? Loved both the $9.00 cod and chips and the seafood salad. Good choice of drinks as well.
