Melin Vietnamese and Chinese Restaurant

Melin catered for our event. It was spectacular! Everybody enjoyed the Vietnamese and Chinese food! The restaurant owners at Melin are lovely and catered to the dietary requirements of particular attendees. Thank you Melin.

What a lovely restaurant! The host Monica is super helpful and nice, whilst the Head Chef Kim is excellent at catering for your dietary needs and cooking absolutely delicious food!!!

We hadn't been to this restaurant before and it was in our Shire so thought we would pay it a visit. Monica was very welcoming which was nice but the food did not live up to any standard. It was rather plain. The special friend rice was dry with no flavour and had 3 prawns on top of the rice and some shredded BBQ pork. We asked for "hot" lemon grass chilli squid and there was absolutely no chilli in the dish. Monica apologised later and said she had put it on the list but the chef had forgotten about it. We also had pork dumplings which were a bit small. There was only one waitress in the restaurant who was very good but overworked. We didn't get any top up of the Chinese Green tea and had to ask for it but we never got it. There was no Asian in the restaurant which says something. If you like plain Chinese food, then you will be fine to go here. But for us, this is the first and last visit.

Been a customer for years now, apart from being convenient in location the food had never ever been a negative. Fantastic dishes, wide selection, fast to prepare (excluding busy times of course) and we always are impressed with what we've paid for. Monica and her staff are always pleasant, and we are remembered even though at times our visits are far apart. Highly recommended for no fuss dining, with old fashioned service that is missing in the big name restaurants.

Placing the order by phone was pleasant, picking the food up was easy, but the flavour of the food was very disappointing. Would I go back "NO" Special Fried I think was steamed rice with a few extras. Sorry normally I would eat all, but on this occasion, the left overs "Plenty" went in the bin. Perhaps eating in would of been better, but mine was a takeaway. Can not comment on the restaurant.
