I'm 51 and went to Ackroyds since I remember. My grandparents were from Ireland, they loved the outliers of bacon and bangerwurst. Also the baked goods were a taste of home for them. Prices don't bother me, you pay for quality! You get 8 round meatcakes for $ 32.00. 4 dollars a cake, throw mash and muddy peas on top with Gravy you could sell that with a restorer 12 to 14 dollars. I enjoyed the food of Ackroyd since I was a boy and they were on the Schaefer Road. The old man Ackroyd would always give me a treat when I picked up meatcake and cake with my father. We always had a steak pee for our New Year's dinner with a failed failure. Ackroyd's was a large part of the Scottish community in the Detroit area and a large part of my growing up. It was my dad's link to the old country. It is part of my heritage and became part of my daughter's love over her heritage and Detroit. I went from a local customer to a national customer, now that I don't travel to Detroit and live in Colorado. I have lived in many places in the United States and have always sought Scottish farewell and was nothing but disappointed. Ackroyd places a bar about what anyone else can reach. Mine is also a feeling for the wonderful memories that I have been given over the years by the Ackroyd tradition. Thank you.
Ackroyd's is gearing up to move to a larger facility, allowing them to prepare even more of their delicious offerings. I’ve learned that they will maintain their order-ahead, curbside pickup, and delivery options in the new space. The items we purchased were top-notch, and Ackroyd's clearly understands their craft. This was our first experience, but after trying some of their selections, I can see us placing many more orders in the future. Our Premier League Football (Soccer) Brunch was enhanced by the flavorful sausages, crispy bacon, and a delightful cream to pair with my homemade scones.

I'm 51 years old and have been visiting Ackroyds for as long as I can remember. My grandparents were from Ireland, and they loved the unique flavors of the bacon and bangerwurst. The baked goods here reminded them of home. I don’t mind the prices because you get what you pay for in terms of quality! For $32.00, you get 8 round meatcakes, which breaks down to $4 each. Add some mashed potatoes and mushy peas on top with gravy, and you could easily sell that dish for $12 to $14 in a restaurant. Don't be stingy; the quality truly justifies the price!
Family owned and operated for generations, you can taste the love and 70+ years of experience in every bite. their takeout is efficient and friendly. would highly recommend!
