Reviews - Jim's -b-q
Reviews summary
Part pit-stop, part cult favorite, this roadside BBQ serves smoky, generously portioned brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage with standout sauces, crispy fries and indulgent milkshakes. Affordable and nostalgic, it’s worth the detour for bold flavor, though service and hours can be inconsistent; occasional rudeness and closures have frustrated patrons. Dog-friendly and down-to-earth, the spot now centers on a former chef’s smoker, keeping loyal fans returning for satisfying barbecue.
Was Rich Marseco at Jim's -b-q a mag?
The restaurant has been sold and is no longer open, but the former chef is now operating a smoker on the premises. We drove 40 minutes to check it out, and despite the change, we decided to grab some food. We’re glad we did—the chicken was amazing; I finished it in no time! The ribs were excellent, and the sausage was tasty too. We’ll definitely be going back! View all feedback.
What Twyla McNamara dislikes about Jim's -b-q:
I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. They were out of windshield washer fluid, and when I asked the cashier if they had any, she was quite rude and told me they didn’t. When I inquired about the restrooms, she sarcastically remarked, "Can’t you read the sign?" Overall, the customer service was lacking. View all feedback.

This place is out of business and the old bag of bones in the store couldn’t even be bothered to look up at me when I inquired.

I found a fantastic little BBQ spot! I tried the brisket sandwich with fries. The fries were crispy on the outside and wonderfully fluffy on the inside. The brisket was incredibly moist, perfectly smoked, and well-seasoned. I thought the sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it still had a nice balance of flavors overall.
I saw billboards about Jim's and decided to make a pit stop there. I ordered a swirl cone and a couple of pig sandwiches. Everything was delicious and very affordable. I'm glad I stopped by!
Small place but high quality, very very very good food and enough. I recommend it.
Really is some of the best BBQ, dont care what they call it, the negative comments could have easily been fixed if people ask about things rather than assuming just saying.
