tasty curry and friendly staff, tables at reasonable distance so not too close to other groups of diners. they bring their alcohol to these days, but there are many shops close: View all feedback.

We came here because another Indian restaurant in Wanstead was full. We love Indian food but this place doesn't make justice to it. Papadoms and the sauces were fine. However, the main dishes were terrible. The chicken didn't look fresh, everything was so bland, not flavours, even the Peshawri bread wasn't good. Staff wasn't very friendly. We decided to get takeout from this restaurant to see how it compared to the many other Indian restaurants in the area. We were pleasantly surprised when our meals arrived as they were excellent. Even the complimentary poppadoms were great - not greasy like others we have tried.

I know where I'm going for Mother's Day - Zainab, the best Indian restaurant in town! The dishes are always freshly prepared and delicious. It's the perfect spot for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. I highly recommend trying the poppadoms with authentic garnishes and the Sgasluck. Even my picky son, with a discerning palate, loves everything on the menu. Overall, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is relaxed and not greasy. You won't be disappointed - give it a try!

A group of us visited, very good food. My prawn purée , tarka dhall and chicken madras superb. Only regret that the do not sell draft beer.

Having moved to Wanstead in Jan 2018 we’ve found it a great place to live but pretty scant on good food and restaurants until we found Zainab’s. The food is absolutely delicious! It’s our go to Indian takeaway now. The tandoori prawns,saag paneer and daal are not to be missed but everything else is great too. My 18 month old son always demolished the chapati’s too which is a feat considering he is a very fussy eater. Go there you won’t be disappointed!
