Was londonphilphil at Durga a mag?
After visiting a few temples in Ilford, we decided to grab some fruit and lunch on Ilford Lane. Our favorite spot is Durga, where the staff is friendly and helpful, and they serve up delicious food. The consistent crowd at the restaurant is a clear indication of the consistently tasty food. The staff are always willing to assist you in choosing from a diverse selection of both savory and sweet dishes. View all feedback.
What NasirSher dislikes about Durga:
Tried over charging and then explained that if I had ordered online it would have been cheaper. He got caught out overcharging and tried to make excuses. In the end I walked out. avoid these thieves. View all feedback.

Went into this place as I do 2/3 times a year when it’s Diwali, Rakhi or New Years to buy Mithai (Indian Sweets). On this occasion it was Rakhi which is a busier than normal day. The Owner with the beard had one slow person working alongside him. I waited outside nearly 20 minutes and there was only 2 people in-front of me in the queue. It got to the point both of them were ignoring the customers outside to serve Uber or deliveroo drivers. I said to the owner your to slow and you should prioritise people waiting outside on the street in 36 degrees heat, he didn’t care and carried on with serving the deliveroo driver. His excuse was that only 2 people were allowed behind the counter. But 2/3 Uber drivers are allowed in the shop at the same time without masks, that makes sense! In the past I allowed writing a bad review for this place as their sweets are the best in the area even after I got served Pakoras drowned in salt. I called and highlighted this to the owner he said he will refund me on my next visit, this didn’t happen. But this time with the bad slow service then stinking attitude from the owner count yourself I can’t rate you lower than 1!
Very tasty chhole bhature, amritsari paratha and paneer paratha. Lassi was thick and creamy and not too sweet. Masala chai was okay, could've had some ginger to make it amazing. Felt that kachori, samosa and nankhataee were a little under-baked. We were lucky to get a seat upon arrival. Short waiting time after ordering. Food arrived hot and aromatic. Bhature were not oily. Parathe had the correct amount of butter. Quantity of chhole was perfect. Loved my brunch and will return for sure!
Best Amritsari Kulche and Cholley i ate in London so far period. That said, one or two other mithai we ordered were not nice, with a super strong smell of milk and sick sweet.
Stale mitai miserable staff been coming here for 25/30 years and won’t be coming back shame really as they used to be so good

Very friendly staff. good delicious food allthough can present better. overall highly recommended
I love this place. it is very clean and pleasant to be. they really feel that the owners are proud of their food. the vegetarian food is excellent. we ordered flower flowers paratha, aloo paratha and halva puri. the day we went, they had a limited menu because of diwali. the puri and paratha were made to order so really fresh and tasty. can not wait to go back when the full menu is available.
With a fully vegetarian menu full of authentic Punjabi classic, this restaurant is a must. but while you can invite and have a nice lunch, this restaurant really shines as a gift; offers the best hearty snacks in the Indian cuisine. without this pakoras a walk after ilford lane would not be finished!
