Taqueria Zavala - Red Oak

We enjoyed this restaurant a year ago, but today's Taco lunch was disappointing. The green and red dips were flavorless, just like the tacos, rice, and refried beans - all bland. Instead of lime, we were given a lemon wedge to squeeze, or not. I also noticed a new sign in the service window stating no returns, which they probably need now. On the positive side, the service was friendly and fast.

Unfortunately, the previous reviews were accurate. The customer service was good, however the air conditioning was broken so it was uncomfortably hot. The food was not very tasty and I was disappointed by the portion size, especially considering the prices. I ordered the 12” burrito and it was not very filling.

We visited this restaurant today. The atmosphere is wonderful and the customer service is excellent. However, the food is not good. The chips were stale and the salsa was disappointing. Even Walmart salsa is better in comparison. I ordered a burrito, but Taco Bell's burrito is better than theirs.

While I visited my daughter in the Dallas area, I had to take her one day. she started early so that instead of going back to the house, the breakfast restaurants searched and taqueria zavala received good reviews. I had the huevos a la mexicans. very good! the fried beans were made with speck right. her green sauce was not hot, but it was tasteful. only part, their tortillas are not homemade. that is a scandal, because good roasted beans earn big homemade tortillas. a big bon and rice to dinner. I go back to the house of my daughter and make homemade tortillas so we can have a Mexican dinner tonight. will in any case be back especially at a weekend when they have pozole!

The customer service was impeccable, the Horchata was the best I’ve had yet, the food was out fast. The music atmosphere was great. BUT the food unfortunately was not good. I ordered barbacoa and was served brisket. I also ordered Lengua but it was undercooked, rubbery and hard to chew. And the beans were more like refried ranch style beans.2 for service. Zero for food. I guess it’s great for those who don’t know the difference between authentic Mexican food and Tex-mex.
