Red Deer Buffet
Red Deer Buffet
Description
A comprehensive review of the restaurant reveals a wide range of opinions. Some guests had negative experiences, describing the food as awful and overpriced, with cold and unappetizing options. Others, however, praised the buffet's vast variety of delicious dishes, friendly service, and improved quality. Despite mixed reviews, some customers highlighted specific favorite items such as the wonton soup, dry ribs, and deep-fried squid. Overall, it seems that the restaurant has made improvements but still has room for growth in terms of consistency and customer service.

It's better than China Ben, but that's the only comparison I can make since I've never been anywhere else. I usually go to Red Deer Buffet, and I really enjoy it. They have excellent shrimp! They used to have these little veggie balls called "house special" that I loved, but I haven't seen them since 2005. I really wish they would bring them back because that's what initially got me hooked!
Once a month, my family and I visit Red Deer, and whenever we have a craving for delicious Chinese food, this is the place we always choose! The service is quick and friendly, but the standout feature is definitely the food. I can't understand why some people don't like it; perhaps they are overly picky or have unrealistic expectations. In terms of buffets, the food is typical Western-Chinese cuisine—nothing particularly unexpected—but there’s a great variety, and even young children will find plenty of tasty choices! I highly recommend this restaurant for fantastic Chinese food at a reasonable price!
Every time we visit Red Deer, we make sure to eat at this restaurant. There’s always plenty of seating and a hearty portion of food, and they treat us like family. The owner remembers us each time we come back, which may influence my opinion a bit, but I also value the fact that my MSG allergy has never flared up after dining here, which is a big advantage.
The Chinese buffet receives an average rating, but I appreciate that they don't use MSG in their cooking.
I was really looking forward to trying the Best Burger Ever at A&W, but it turned out to be a letdown. While it had a strong garlic flavor, it overall felt quite bland—definitely not something I’d order again. I’m really disappointed. On the other hand, my favorite burger there is the Uncle Sirloin with cheddar and bacon; that's my go-to choice. Overall, A&W does have the best burgers, and as a bonus, they use grass-fed beef.
