Had a great time sitting at the bar for dinner. Would suggest a couple things, first, all beers should be served in iced/very chilled glasses, mine was not. Second, when someone is having dinner at the bar, give them place settings. other than that, service and food were great! View all feedback.
What LisaS doesn't like about Prime Modern Steakhouse:
It took close to one hour to receive our main course. We were first in the door when they finally opened the door . A couple who came in behind us had eaten and was leaving and we still not gotten our food. Overall the experience was one I never want to have again. They are closing but if they were to stay open we would never return. View all feedback.
The food was on point as usual. Our waitress was having a bad night. She seemed to not like us, she was rude to my niece Never had that experience there before. She didn't put in our drinks when we re ordered the second round and at the end she didn't ever bring us our coffee we ordered. We never said anything at that point because our dessert was already gone.

Their idea of a glass of wine and mine is a lot different. $10 for 2.5 oz. Of Chardonnay is ridiculous. Our waitress was trying hard but needs way more training to be acceptable. I ordered a double gin martini over ice with a shot of dry vermouth most bartenders know that means a dash of vermouth to make a legitimate martini. This person interpreted that as a full shot of vermouth on top of a double shot of gin. On top of that, they charged me $3 for vermouth added to the martini. Food was ok but the presentation was amateurish and embarrassing. Needless to say, we won't be driving 35 miles south to Red Bluff for dinner at this restaurant.
This place has A/C issues. Almost 80 degrees when we were there. Everyone apparently knows about it though including the servers? They had fans blowing to try to keep you comfortable. You would think the ambiance they were trying for with the Decor that they would get the A/C fixed or upgraded. Our cold water that was poured before we got there (with no ice) was not cold when we were seated because of how warm it was. The Yukon potatoes (over abundance of them) were not smashed and had no flavor. We had to add salt. Thought they could have something green added to the plate for $50 an entree. The steak and shrimp were good and service was good. This place just needs some tweaks to make it a Prime steakhouse before we go back again.
We went to this restaurant because they would seat us outside. It was warm and we were the only table occupied on the patio. Although the wait staff had to trek the extra distance outside to serve us, they were extremely gracious and attentive. We had at least four people help us and never did we feel we were an inconvenience. The food was also excellent. My steak was fabulous and the rest of our meal was outstanding. It was our anniversary dinner and everyone made it a very special evening.
