Was User at Kevin's Donuts a mag?
This is my favorite donut shop in town, and I visit it twice a week. I particularly love their delicious breakfast sandwiches and strawberry Danish. The owners are also some of the friendliest people I've met in a long time. View all feedback.
What Kirsten McTavish dislikes about Kevin's Donuts:
While the donuts and other food options are pretty good, there are 2 girls that work there that are just plain mean. One just looks mad all the time and can't even hand me my change or bag after the transaction is done she just walks away. I saw her multiple times just glaring at certain customers, especially non Spanish speaking ones. It's sad cause this could be an amazing place if it weren't for a few bad apples. View all feedback.
The woman at the counter was very helpful, and the doughnuts were quite tasty. Kevin's comes in second to Dolly-O's, which means they are incredibly delicious!
Heading south, I wanted a donut for the road, so looked up donut shops in Red Bluff and drove down S. Main to Kevin's. When I walked in, I was amazed at the selection. Not just donuts, but pan dulce and flan and other pastries as well. I got a filled maple bar which was HUGE and a concha. I got back on 5 and tried the concha first. Incredible! It was light and airy, not too sweet, and perfect with coffee. Speaking of coffee, I also purchased a coffee at Kevin's. I am always leery about coffee in donut shops. So often it has been sitting there for hours and tastes like fresh tar. Not this coffee. It was very good, no burnt taste and obviously fresh. The maple donut was excellent. This will be my go to donut shop in Red Bluff from now on!
Their donuts are always fresh, and they've expanded their menu to include even more options. My favorites are the fresas con crema (strawberries and cream) and the duro preparado (a large crunchy chip topped with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, pickled pork rinds, and cheese) — it's simply amazing! They also offer a variety of other treats, including Mexican sweet bread, as well as a selection of cold and hot coffee, lattes, and much more.
The apple fritter was excellent. The flan was excellent as well. I walked out forgetting one bag, when I realized it and returned, it was right on the counter with the gal happy I came back. Next time I'm in Red Bluff and need a donut fix, Kevin's is the spot Meal type: Other Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Doughnut, Raised Cake Donuts, Apple Fritter
Please know that I judge doughnut places based on their Old Fashioned doughnuts. In that regard this is one of the worst doughnut spots I've ever been to. I gave them two chances...once in 2022 and once this week in 2024. Both times the Old Fashioned glazed was terrible. I took one bite and threw the rest away. The service is always friendly. The place isn't the cleanest by a long shot. The coffee is just ok. I recommend skipping this place. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $1–10 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1
