Reviews - Pfc
Reviews summary
Nestled on the less-than-glamorous Wokingham Road in Earley, this restaurant has received mixed reviews that highlight its stark contrasts. While some patrons lament the lack of consistent quality and poor service, others celebrate the transformation under new ownership, citing exceptional food and a friendly atmosphere. The menu features standout chicken dishes, particularly noted for their tasty versions of burgers and wings. Despite some diners' past disappointments, many agree that recent improvements and value for money make it a place worth visiting, especially for those seeking quality takeout in a comfortable setting.

It may be on the horrible Wokingham Road in Earley, but PFC is great value for money and worth bearing the horrible smell of raw Halal meat. The wings are the meatiest around and the other things are decent, but seriously. GET THE WINGS. THEY'RE... View all feedback.
What Mcswaggerty dislikes about Pfc:
I ordered takeaway for myself and 3 work colleagues. The call was answered promptly but unfortunately the girl taking my order struggled to do so due to language difficulties, and not all of the things that I wanted to order from the menu were available-... View all feedback.

Walk on by, it'll be safer for you. Very basic chicken joint. Part of a dreadful chain infecting the town.
The food and service are horrible. The chicken tasted like old fried oil and were way to spicy. I will never eat from there again. Thumbs down! The smell in the shop made me sick. They shurely dont change the oil as often as they...
There are so many of these KFC lookalikes. This one serves very tasty food despite its rather gaudy image.

When our order arrived, the chicken had clearly been sitting for a long time. It was so dry and tough that we couldn't even remove it from the bone. The hot wings were greasy and also tough, and the chips were cold. As a food establishment, you should be ashamed of yourself. Changing the name of your shop won't improve the quality of your food. I wouldn't eat there even if I were starving. Save your money and go to KFC instead. It's not much more expensive, and at least their food is edible.
Ever since new ownership took over, this restaurant has undergone a dramatic transformation. The food quality is exceptional, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and most importantly, the menu offers great value for the price. I would give it 5 stars and highly recommend it to anyone.
This restaurant used to be known for its delicious food and pleasant atmosphere, but since the change in ownership, it has deteriorated significantly. The establishment is in disrepair and the customer service is awful. I waited 30 minutes for my food, only to be told that my order was not put through without any apology. When my food finally arrived, the lamb donner was burnt, the chicken tikka was undercooked, and the spicy chicken fillet was much smaller than expected. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had, and the staff need to improve their customer service skills. I wish I could give this restaurant zero stars.
Vile is an absolute understatement. Under previous management we had eaten here a few times and been respected along with an edible meal at least. Now it’s an absolute joke. We had under cooked chicken, cardboard flavoured chips, hairs in the meals (not just one meal) and upon complaining directly with them they were rude, hung up multiple times. They treat their customers like ****. They’re being reported to health and safety due to the lack of hygiene but multiple former customers. Do as all the other reviews suggest and for your own safety avoid!!
I used to go here years ago for the chicken and chips and the Masala fish and seekh kebabs. Not bad. Would sometimes not get everything I ordered and would have to go back to the coutnter for corrections but it cheap and decent enough food for the price. Then suddenly it all got quite expensive and I noticed at the weekend they have an online presence and you can order online. So first off the good those dishes I used to buy were actually just as good as they were, albeit more expensive now. And the guys behind the counter are just as friendly as they always were. So that 's cool. But that 's where it ends. First off I got there 25mins and it was meant to be ready at 20mins, only to wait around another 5 10 minutes as they run around like headless chickens trying to get the order right. Then I 'm finally given a couple of bags with all the food in so with my past experience of this place I went through checking it. It 's fine when you 're walking in on a Friday or Saturday night and eating in if they miss something but for an online collect order you can 't really take the risk. So I find the masala fish 'meal ' I ordered was just a bit of fish thrown in a bit of polystyrene with zero salad, which is meant to be included. some things no sauces at all and I had to ask for some (for me) some things just randomly doused in a mixture of various sauces which basically ruined it for my mum 's meal and my wife 's Surely you ask your customer how they 'd like their meal. You don 't just randomly decide some want it dry, some want it in an ocean of random sauces!!! I sort out the above (well I coudn 't sort out the gallons of random sauces poured onto the other stuff but at leaast I could get salt on the chips and the sauces I wanted for the sauceless stuff. Then as I 'm rechecking ti all again I see they 've missed out an item! So I ask them for it, they apologise and correct it immediately. I could have got all the way home and seen half my items were missing. Grrrrr Whilst I was waiting there I saw with horror that some guy was cutting off doner kebab meat from the doner kebab elephant leg when it was basically white, totally uncooked. I thought to myself poor sod whoever is getting that! only to realise when I got home it was mine. It was TOTALLY INEDIBLE. We had to fry it and even then it was VERY VERY POOR QUALITY. It 's not meat, it 's something else. A very very poor quality version of doner kebab you sometimes get in some very cheap and nsaty kebab vans. I don 't know where they source this rubbery cardboard from but were they to cook it it might have been less awful, but even cooked it 's not doner meat and should not be sold online at premium prices. The Saag aloo was just slop. We 've had soem rpetty good saag aloo before but this is some sort of green liquid, totally inedible again. In summary whilst there are positive points there as above which should leave this place with at least a 2star, overall it has to be 1star because the overall opinion of the place is that it 's awful: the night was ruined with my mum and wife having no meal. Basically this is my assessment of PFC: For a cheeky cheap chicken and chips place where you get in late night after partying and want something to eat it 's fine. And thats ' what it used to be. You 'd turn up, pay a fair price for fair chicken and chips, they 'd often miss things out but that 's what you expect for an outfit like this, and you 'd just go up to the counter and ask for it. That 's fine. But THEN at some point in their history they decided to be some big shot online place that has branched out into a whole load of other dishes and doner kebabs etc etc.. which is NOT their forte but basically perfunctory . Well those dishes are poor. And the price has jumped up. Well the prices are unreasonable now for what it is. And the service has turned into some online order thing where they think they know what they are doing. Well, they don 't. Awfully managed, awful logistics, wrong foods, cheap and nasty polystyrene, random sauces, not on time etc.. Basically they are a small time late night chicken and chip shop who are trying to do far too much and just failing. If they reduce prices and stick to what they know best they 're fine. But whilst they are charging premium prices and masquerading as a wide choice restaurant with online orders etc without the kitchen or logisitics staff to back it up I 'd say stay well away. You can 't just turn a simple chicken shop into an online multi cuisine operation overnight!
