The best fish and chips I had in a long time, and I ha... read more (a) I'm sorry not to make fish puss. It's not the plague. b) WOW! I really loved this fish and chip shop. The best fish and chips I had in a long time, and I had fish and chips at some fancier sites. (c) You get the impression that Finn 's brings the magic ingredient of love into what they do. From paper bags, sauces and dips to the sheer work and effort on a Saturday night everything is the best it can be. (d) Despite the much higher quality than your average chippy, the prices are fixed chip store prices. e) the dips and sauces are unforgettable, not a warm shachet of inimitable water goo here, the homemade tartar sauce and chili and lemon dip as they are from a five star restaurant. (f) Some people like their fish scattered to the point where their almost still uncooked; Finn's fish were slightly scattered and I think they are better for them. g) I know this place will be a lot of praise, but I think it deserves more. Surely nothing comes close to Reading. h) A great thank you to Finns and their staff for their passion and hard work. They have increased fish and chips to a higher level than just others take away food without increasing prices. If there was an Oscar for it, they would really deserve it

I or... read more This is my local chippy and I really enjoy eating here on the occasions that I crave a good fish and chips. Their portions are massive and veryyyy filling! I ordered: Wholetail breaded Scampi £3.50: Loved these as a side. Very juicy. Panko breaded prawns £3.50: I didn’t enjoy these very much as I found them quite dry. Masala fish and chips £8.50: I appreciate their efforts to create something a bit more tingling on the tongue, but this didn’t quite hit the mark that they were hoping to achieve. It wasn’t spicy, nor did it have any Asian flavours. Nevertheless, it was still a very tasty fish and I think it has to be my favourite because it definitely contains more flavour than the other fishes. Haddock and chips £8.95: This is a huge fish and again, very delicious. It went very well with their chilli lime and coriander dip. The chips are super addictive too! I loved eating them with the hot gravy Halal status: The fish is fried separately to the meat items. Meat items are not halal. Service: I was served fairly quickly and attended to very well.
