The workers are beautiful here and the food is very cheap. I always get exactly the same, The Baltimore Special. It is a wide selection of breakfast and comes with a wealth of food for a very low price. It comes in about 10-15 minutes every time without mistake. In addition, it is open all night.
A classic diner experience with delicious food. The menu is extensive, and I really appreciate that they offer full breakfast options all day—not just the basic dishes. They have Eggs Benedict, creamed chipped beef, biscuits and gravy, as well as seasonal autumn specials. This has quickly become one of my favorite spots!
The food was good, but our server was quite rude. We felt rushed throughout our visit. We arrived at 8:25 and when she came over at 8:27, we tried to order dessert. She told us they close at 9:00 and implied it wasn’t possible to enjoy a cake in that time. It was frustrating. When we left, the owner and another staff member followed us out and promptly closed the door behind us. While it's understandable they want to close on time and enjoy their evening, we felt very unwelcome due to the strange attitude.
We dined at Diner twice during our stay in Reading because the food was reliably good and affordable. We also tried a few other spots nearby, but they felt pretentious and unprepared to serve guests.
Nestled in Reading, this diner strikes a nostalgic chord with its retro ambiance and extensive menu. While many patrons rave about the hearty, delicious meals and friendly service, experiences differ greatly. Breakfast shines, particularly the exceptional coffee and flavorsome home fries that leave diners satisfied. However, some reviews highlight inconsistencies in service and food quality, ranging from bland burgers to less-than-ideal interactions with staff. Despite occasional rough patches, the diner remains a cozy spot for comforting meals and good company, making it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike. Overall, it embodies the warmth and familiarity of a beloved neighborhood eatery.

I have never experienced a business that turns down a customer 45 minutes before closing time but this is a first. I also never heard of a server that works off tips not wanting to take a table. Apparently this is who they have working there. Food is basic at best. Don't even waste your time going on there
It's rare to find dinners like this nowadays. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. This is how breakfast is meant to taste. There's nothing extravagant here—just simple, affordable meals with generous portions. The clientele is older, and everyone embodies the kindness and good values of the past. Food: 5/5.
The food quality is very average, at best. It's a far cry from exceptional, that's for sure. The bathroom was filthy-dirty and smelled like urine. Besides that, it hadn't been updated in probably 30 years. The restaurant needs and update too. There were many filthy ceiling tiles, from a leaking roof. The only positive thing I can say is, the waiter was one of the kindest, most concerning servers I've come across in a very long time. To the waiter: Thank you for the great service! Unfortunately, do to all of the negatives, I doubt I'll ever return again. Have a Blessed day....
Took awhile to get acknowledged when we entered. Several waitresses glanced at us but no one said anything. When finally the lady at the register said you can take that table and pointed at table. Did not walk us there. No friendly faces. Food was good. When checking out the person was not friendly. She took the check and money and never said thank you. And before I could put my credit card away she grabbed the next persons. At the same time she was processing our payment she proceeded to reprimand another employee about menus and assembly of. Did not need to be called out in front of customers. Very unprofessional.
How can you possibly ruin breakfast? By serving French toast that tastes like cardboard with a sandpaper texture and pancakes that resemble paste from a kindergarten art project. When we requested to have those items removed from the bill, we still ended up paying over $10 each for just eggs, meat, and toast! Our server was fantastic, but there’s no way we would return— not even if they paid us! Food rating: 2/5.

Classic diner experience with great food. Menu is huge and I love they have full breakfast menus all day, and not just the easy items. They have benedict, creamed chipped beef, biscuits and gravy, plus fall-flavored specials. This is one of my newfavorite places!
This has got to be the blandest and most flavorless burger I have had in a LONG TIME! There was absolutely NO seasoning on it at all. Surely was not medium-well, like I asked. The burger patty looks like it was just sitting in hot water before it was placedon the bun! Fries are just barely cooked, as well. Sadly, the most flavorful thing I had was the water with a slice oflemon! Definitely not coming back!

It was good. Very standard diner fare. Nothing spectacular except the extent of the menu. The food was good. The service was exceptionally friendly, but not necessarily on point. Overall it was a good dining experience and i would return. One of mypancakes smiled at me... So... I'll share that photo ???? The seasonal pumpkin pancakes were tasty, but nothing exceptional. Thedecaf coffee was amazing. Never had better.
