My family and I had such a great stay here. The staff, especially Christine, were the nicest people. We stayed in a train car which is a little rustic. Reminded me of Summer Camp. My 3 year old got sick unfortunately so we had to leave in a hurry and my husband left his laptop. They called us and shipped it back immediately! Can't wait to go back. The petting zoo is awesome and the grounds are amazing
Had a great time and everyone was awesome. We had a suite in the farmhouse. I would not recommend this for a larger group with several children. There was no living room or kitchenette and it really seemed like everyone was on top of each other.Other than that, the place will be nice for a couple or small family. The view was extraordinary. The staff was extremely grateful for when I thanked them for having a Gideon Bible in the suite.
A caboose as your hotel room is truly a unique experience. Very clean and has everything you need. You park right in front of your caboose. Beautiful farm like, country property and the on site restaurant is awesome.
I have mixed feelings about this place. Full disclosure I only visited the gift shop and restaurant during lunch time. First impression, I was put off by the gentleman behind the counter annoyed that he had to point us in the direction of the restaurant. We were greeted by a member of the wait staff. We let her know how many are in our party. She then started to clean off a table, thought for us, and then started to bring out food. The manager asked if we were helped, since we were, we let her know her staff was working on it. 5 minutes goes the manager still sees us waiting after changing a keg from behind the bar. She then says she will help us out. We request outside seating and she gets us seated right away. The food is typical diner fare, burgers and such. We opted for the meatloaf. Lunch was exactly what I thought not would be. A good portion, fresh vegetable side, along with friendly service. We finished off the meal and spent some time talking to our waiter about the history of the location. We then walked through the gift shop on the way out buying some local jams.We came to town for the short line rail road and Museum nearby. Having lunch outside was a great way to railfan to a good meal.If you're in the area and not in a rush give Casey Jones a chance.
