Katy's - Ratoath

I don't visit Ratoath often and am not familiar with the town, but I happened to be passing through late one evening and decided to try Katys for a meal. I'm glad I did. The burger and chips were delicious, the service was quick, and the prices were fair.

I placed a simple small order at Katy's restaurant, but when I arrived, most of the staff were gathered in a huddle talking. I gave my name and order, but when I checked it at home, I realized they had given me the wrong order. I called and the staff offered to send a driver with the missing food, but I declined as it would have been too much trouble for me. I drove back to the restaurant to get the correct order, but part of it was still in the oven. I was disappointed because I had always heard good things about Katy's reputation. The chicken kebab was a whole breaded chicken instead of being cut up, and it came with chopped lettuce and mayo mixed together, whereas I am used to having kebabs with taco or chilli sauce and onions. The garlic mayo was bland, and the taco chips seemed more like cheese chips with very little mince. It was a let down compared to the great reviews I had heard in the past.

This restaurant is simply delicious! The prices are great too, much better value than other chip shops nearby. They also offer delivery to Dunshaughlin, which is a great option!

If it’s good old chipper food you’re after look no further. Katys is perfect for burgers, chips, chicken etc. Their pizzas are pretty good too. Friendly staff are very efficient.
