Really good French style place for dining short but diverse menu from good octopus and goat cheese starters to tasty beef. Wine is well selected as well. Highly recommend for small group authentic food experience in Ratingen centre with quality and friendly service View all feedback.
What Sergej Majeský doesn't like about La Petite Affaire:
None of the reviews give a proper flavour of this place. Which is more of a dive than a restaurant, but a dive with lovely staff and a short but tasty menu on the basis of one dish!. It's a barcafé, not a restaurant, and...the staff were very helpful to this nonGerman speaking Brit, needed because the chalkboard menu is in German, not French despite the name. I played safe with steakfrites, which was a chunky piece o... View all feedback.
Not only is this small bistro a fantastic eatery but the host, Mark Wasser is very friendly and accommodating. The good is excellent and the service is first class
Whilst I agree with most of the review of ChutzpahUK I must disagree with his description of the place being a dive. La Petite Affaire is a small bistro which I have frequented on many occasions. The food is definitely French as is Houda, the...wife of the Bistro owner. Mark, the owner speaks perfect English and is very accommodating. It is a wonderful place to relax with a glass of wine whilst listening to the atmospheric French music. Of course the menu is in German, after all it is in Germany. Definitely worth a visit. You won't be disappointed

Very friendly staff. Small menu but local and seasonal. The menu offered some fancier options and some basic dishes. Everything was well presented, prepared and seasoned to perfection. It's more of a bar than restaurant, completely unpretentious and genuine
We have visited La Petite Affaire several times and we were never disappointed. The Flammkuchen is a must to try, yummy! The restaurant is attended by its owners, which always makes a difference and they do speak German, French and English, which is really nice....The menu is only in German language but they are always explaining what is what in case you need help. The have Belgium beer which my husband always appreciates and German beer of course. It is child friendly, they always give my daughter something to make drawings You won´t be dissapointed
