Was Anonym at Rathmullan House a mag?
The most wonderful experience at Rathmullan House Hotel. Incredible staff and nothing was too much trouble. Food second to none, rooms very comfortable and views some of the most scenic Donegal has to offer. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Rathmullan House:
the pizza was very nice, but I must agree with another contributor that the constantly screaming boil dogs and constant stream of children who were on my table heaving to get outside, with their parents in the hot hungry, staging my table out of the way she went, made for a less than pleasant culinary experience. Perhaps diners can convince themselves to stay away from other people tables and access the open area onl... View all feedback.

Great food and great service. Grainne runs a useful team to deliver delicious pizzas and beer, tasty stuff.

The restaurant has a good selection of pizza in a lovely atmosphere and offers a nice variety of drinks. The toppings are unique and delicious. The service was good as well. However, I can only give it 3 stars for a few reasons. They do not offer tap water, which is not common in Ireland. The pizzas are on the smaller side, especially for the price, so don't come here on an empty stomach. Also, the pizzas are served in cardboard boxes even when dining in, which seems environmentally unfriendly and makes it difficult to eat at the table.
It was all OK the service was slow as they didn't have enough staff and it was quite cold. Food was ok
Ordered 2 pizzas, one charcuterie and one verde. Verde one was very sparse with goats cheese and overall toppings (especially for the price) but the charcuterie one was fine in that respect and tasted good. They are delivered from outside the tent where they are made and set on a table to be picked up by the table staff. Noticed our pizzas sat there for at least 5 minutes before they were brought to us which was a bit on the slow side. Wild garlic dip was excellent and fries were decent also. They are served in takeaway cardboard boxes as are any sides you order. Venue is also nice but was a tad cool as it is basically a large tent outside with open sides and the wind was blowing through it a bit. Make sure to bring a layer or two in case of this. The cost overall is a bit on the expensive side but it is somewhere I would return again to.
Excellent choice of fresh pizza here. Would've liked a garlic bread. Madras curry was very good but could've been hotter . Went to nights in a row. Good craft beer selection. Great service from a clearly young, but well trained, enthusiastic team
The Pavilion is essentially a large open marquee with some additional seats under umbrellas just outside the marquee, in the grounds of the Rathmullan House Hotel. The service and the food are both excellent but you need to realize you'll essentially be dining outside. You must book in advance and we didn't check the weather properly so it was a bit cold and wet. It's on the pricey side so I'd say you really want to check the weather forecast before you book to be sure you'll be able to enjoy it. If it turns out the weather's cold you'll be charged to cancel or if you change your mind or are a no show. Also, we had a dog and you're generally required to sit at the tables outside the marquee if you have a dog which is surprising given that it's an outdoor venue anyway. I recently visited this restaurant for a friend's birthday. The pizzas were delicious, with a rating of 10/10. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We will definitely be returning.
The pizzas at this restaurant are amazing with fresh flavors. The service is fabulous, and they have a great selection of wines and beers. Don't forget to save room for the delicious ice cream dessert bar.
We visited during a busy Saturday night. Pizzas where very tasty. Outside setting close to the beach was lovely! Great friendly service too!
The quality of everything - from the surroundings to the menu and the staff - is excellent at this restaurant. The unique setting, a tent with a pizza bar, overlooks Lough Swilly.
Booked here hoping for a fun family night, didn’t realise it was outside fair enough I guess on account of coronavirus. What I didn’t expect was to be ankle deep in mud, sitting at a small wooden table in a rather gritty tent. Food was served in takeaway boxes, yet the bill still came to €138 for four adults and 2 children (drinks, a couple of starters to share and pizzas, with no desserts). It’s called the tap room, yet there was no beer on tap only bottles and cans. Staff forgot to bring out ketchup for the kids. On the walk back to the car park we stopped into the hotel to ask if my son could use the bathroom and they said no, there is a portaloo down on the lawn by the tap room (ironically named as we weren’t even allowed inside a “room” to use the bathroom). Less then impressed. Pizza itself was very nice.
