Farmer Browns Rathmines

Farmer browns used to be one of my favourite places to eat when I lived in the neighbourhood. I hadn't been to the restaurant in a couple of years when I booked in over the weekend. I was really disappointed. The decor has gone really shabby, and the restaurant felt grubby. There was different music playing inside and outside on the terrace, and with the door open, that became really distracting. We were the only people sitting inside the restaurant, and it was really quiet outside two, with just a couple of tables filled. Despite this, the table next to us remained stacked with plates and food left from previous diners for 20 minutes. When our starters arrived, one of the waitstaff started hovering next to us. Our drinks came warm. The starter of chicken wings was nice, but that was the highlight of the meal. Service was extremely slow we waited about 45 minutes between our starters and main. My partner's order was wrong, and my salad had no dressing on it. Despite all of this, it was pricey. It's a shame to see a once famous eatery lose its charm. I hope it will regain it.

Big portions and good value for money. Really nice vibe.

We went to this restaurant for my son's birthday. The food was just okay. The cheese on the bacon cheese chips was very powdery. My chicken wrap and my husband's burger were both overcooked. I felt like my wrap was mostly just bread with hardly any chicken on it. I was disappointed because I had heard great things about this restaurant.

The fast food at this restaurant is too expensive for the quality. The OpenTable rating does not accurately represent the true experience.

I had the nachos and I was disappointed as they were flooded with sour cream, had very little chilli beef and the guacamole didn’t taste like guacamole, it was more like avocado mixed with sour cream or something like that, so the price of €17 was not good value for what I had. On a good note, the staff were nice and friendly. There’s a Mexican restaurant nearby, so if you want to serve nachos, you should do better than that, or maybe just focus on burgers, those are good.
