Hard to explain but maybe it is not Just a problem of this venue but the one of BKK clubs. But still it is better than other clubs in Sukhumvit area.

Rex is a bit of a revelation compared to the other venues in the ever diminishing group of Bangkok nightclubs. A place where you can enter the bar unencumbered... read more Rex is a bit of a revelation compared to the other venues in the ever diminishing group of Bangkok nightclubs. A place where you can enter the bar unencumbered by cover charges, surly security, unfriendly staff, high prices, and trite music. Instead you enter an establishment of intimate proportions with friendly staff and management, reasonable drink prices, good music and a relaxed vibe. One wonders why there are not more venues about of a similar ilk, where one can pop in and enjoy a couple of drinks and a dance or two without all of the usual club hassles. Club has a nice ambience, tables surrounding a DJ booth and small dance floor. There is also a pool table, more of a curiosity than a focal point. Clean toilets. Midnight to 3am probably a good time to visit, but the club stays open quite late. Kudos to the management for restoring a small piece of Bangkok's eroding nightlife.
