The service is upscale and attentive without pretension and on point throughout the dining experience. We tried the chiperones, which were a show stopper. Trying El Pilón while in Rascafrias is a must, dont miss this gem! Yum!

We were both very tired, having travelled all day, and needed a quick but substantial meal. Our experience of steaks in Spain has not been as good as we would like, but the introduction claimed the meat to be very locally sourced and high quality. Our steaks cooked medium came out in a suspiciously very short time. They were on the rare side of medium, actually prefect for us and were 2 of the best flavored entrecots that we have ever tasted, and the best in Spain. The service was attentive and friendly, overall an excellent meal, thank you

For this special event... read more Waiters were excellent, spanish speakers but could converse in English. Had the Rota de Tapas of Competa and it was absolutely fabulous! For this special event they did €2.50 for tapas and a drink. The standard of the tapas was unlike what I’ve known before and if you hadn’t eaten here before this would certainly motivate you to come back for something bigger! Delicious!

We don't like a rush so a stop over was required and we found a dog friendly hotel in Rascafria (hotel marcus). So took dog for a walk and first restaurant we found was El Pilon they explained they were open tonight but closed at 9pm. We went back at 8ish. They were quite busy. We hadn't booked but a table for two was found. 5 months we were in Spain and this on our last night the best meal we had. My wife's pork cheeks were sublime. My steak was bbq,d to perfection. Jamon to start excellent. The smoked salmon starter was just so full of flavour. My thanks to the chef for a job very well done. but My memory will be filled with the friendly, expert, service we recieved. I'm overjoyed to have found this wonderful place and I will return. Thank you El Pilon Ps wine fantastic! was told not to order the expensive stuff but to try something else. Just loving El Pilon. xxx
