What Rachel Van Dam doesn't like about La Parada Gourmet Mexican:
The place smells very strongly like an old lady's perfume, and it made the food taste weird. You couldn't smell the food being cooked and could barely smell the food even when it was in front of you. The food was kind of weird, too. I had the veggie fajitas (the only vegetarian option on the menu). They had a strange oily red sauce on them, almost like sweet and sour sauce but different (not in a good way). It was al... View all feedback.
Not recommended, It was edible, definitely not authentic but for the price there are many other nearby places. Very high priced for what you get and could make better at home or even gas station food is better.
Good food. We had the queso, chips and salsa. I had the fajitas, very good. Will definitely go back when in the area again.

This place has both excellent food and outstanding customer service. Very serendipitous experience. Roger's tequila shrimp is top notch (coming from a foodie).
I was heading back to Port Washington after turkey hunting in Adell and thought I 'd grab some takeout. I sat at the bar and ordered chicken enchiladas and a chicken burrito for my wife. The restaurant wasn 't very busy, but it still took quite a while for someone to take my order. During the over 45 minute wait for my order, I wasn 't even offered chips and salsa like all of the dine in customers received. While I waited, two other people at the bar got their bills and found overcharge mistakes. When my food finally arrived, I quickly paid and headed home. Upon opening my enchiladas I was shocked to find something that looked more like deep fried frozen chimichangas. They either don 't know what enchiladas are, or I was served the wrong thing. I won 't be going back to find out. My wife described her burrito as Just OK.
