Black River Barn - Randolph Township

This restaurant is perfect for lunch, dinner, and enjoying quality time with friends at its outstanding bar.

Our server, Kristen, was fantastic—she was incredibly friendly and made sure to check on us frequently. I ordered the chicken marsala, which was served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Unfortunately, the broccoli was cold, and the chicken was somewhat overpowered by the sauce. I had a drink that initially tasted like juice, but Kristen took it back to the bar and improved it significantly. Honestly, I enjoyed the mashed potatoes the most, as well as the cozy atmosphere by the fireplace where we were seated.

We ordered two meals; I really enjoyed mine, while my wife had a mixed experience. She felt her vegetables were lukewarm and that her chicken was drenched in too much Marsala sauce, although she did like the mashed potatoes. Her drink, called Fall Breeze, was more like juice than an adult beverage, but our server replaced it with a better option. Speaking of our server, Kirsten was exceptional—definitely one of the best we've encountered in a long time. Although we didn’t receive bread and butter upon seating like other patrons did, I would still recommend this restaurant and would love to return to try more items from their menu.

Stopped in for a late lunch seated outside by the lake which was nice. Food was edible, nothing to be excited about. When you offer such an extensive menu that's usually the case can't do everything well. The best part was having to walk inside to get and pay the bill after having waited quite long enough for the server to come to us. Given I found at least 3 servers inside with 2 bar customers and one other outside diner, there was no reason for it and there was no apology given so I'd say it's a one and done for us.

There is indoor and outdoor dining. The atmosphere was great and so was the food. There is quite the variety.
