a very ok place to get a small selection of Vietnamese cuisine (bannh mi, bung thit nuong, goi cuon, and pho,) but with a very American culinary experience. my family ordered the vermicelli with chicken and retire with huh, with garnel spring rollers on the side. eating was just okay and the dishes were a bit expensive-not amazing. for rice dishes in Vietnamese cuisine comes the fish sauce in the rule on the side and... I am not a fan of pho with anise, as I am Italian and do not prefer it. However, Laterne restaurant delivered one of the most flavorful broths without overwhelming anise flavor. I will always come back here for this pho! The shrimp spring rolls were also excellent, with a crunchy and flaky wrap around delicate shrimp. Great job, Laterne - you have gained a loyal customer (and my mom too)!
Their egg rolls and spring rolls are consistently good and fresh. Another go to is the pork belly banh mi sandwich and their Vietnamese ice coffee. the coffee is strong yet with enough sweetness. what i most appreciate is that they make sure to not add peanuts when i request to not add any because of nut allergies. haven't had a messed up order yet. only wish that the amount of egg rolls or spring rolls in the orders were more than just 2 or 3 pieces which would make up for the steep price otherwise the taste of the food makes up for it.
This is one of the best Bahn Mi sandwich I have ever tried. I order the filet mignon which was packed with flavor, tender, and juicy. The bread has the right crunchy texture, but it won't stab you on the roof of your mouth. You must try their Vietnamese ice coffee! Perfect balance between bold and sweet.
This was absolutely delicious. The salad was great. The coffee amazing. You just have to ask for chopsticks. It was weird eating it with a fork.
Food was clean and tasty. Presentation of food was good and the restaurant was well maintained and clean. Service was friendly and overall experience was good. Price is a bit on the higher side but it is in Haven City Market which tends to hike up the price a but. Porions were adequate. 8/10.
