What Dana Dolph doesn't like about Aloft Ontario-rancho Cucamonga:
It's a newly built hotel that's suitable for a short overnight stay. However, it lacks in-house restaurants, and the pricing is average to high compared to other hotel brands. When compared to other chains, there are definitely areas for improvement in overall services and facilities. Customer service also needs enhancement, likely due to a shortage of staff. I stayed here for a wedding in the area and found it to be a great choice. The hotel is conveniently close to both the airport and the wedding venue, which is likely why the couple chose it. I had a wonderful stay thanks to the fantastic staff. The Aloft brand is relatively new to Marriott, so just be aware of their unique style and approach. There are several bars and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. While the hotel does have a bar, the selection isn't the greatest, but it still fits the Aloft brand's vibe.
The rooms aren’t particularly large, but they are functional. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the air conditioning unit effectively kept the room cool, though it was a bit on the noisy side. It didn’t seem to be malfunctioning; I think it’s just the usual sound for that model. However, I did notice some mildew stains in the shower and on the ceiling above it, which was a bit off-putting. I was also concerned to see that both elevators had inspection certificates that expired in January 2021. While I didn’t encounter any issues with the elevators, it made me wonder how such an oversight could go unnoticed by the hotel staff and management for over two years. On a positive note, the hotel is situated in a nice area with convenient access to the interstate, along with nearby restaurants and businesses.
We didn't start our evening here, but we stopped by for a few drinks at the bar and to play some pool. As cigar smokers, we appreciated that they allow smoking in a designated area just outside the pool section, as long as you’re ordering from the bar. It’s a nice alternative to traditional bars, pubs, or sports bars if you're looking to unwind with a few drinks, play some pool, and relax. The music was set at a comfortable volume—not too loud—when we visited on a Wednesday night, with pop tunes playing, though that might change on different nights. The bartender was friendly and attentive to our orders. Overall, this place is a great spot to hang out. Nearby attractions include the Ontario Mills Mall, Toyota Arena, Big Al's, numerous restaurants, and the Ontario airport.

When compared to other chains, there are definitely areas for improvement in overall services and facilities. Customer service also needs enhancement, likely due to a shortage of staff. This hotel resembles a typical motel where the front desk doubles as the cash counter, room service, and even the food ordering chef. The staff does work hard, but overall, this place is better suited for casual travelers rather than regular or upscale guests, as you won’t find any extra perks here.
Overall, this hotel is quite decent. There are a few quirks, such as some guests vandalizing the elevator panel by scraping their names and adding graffiti—I'm not sure why people do that. Additionally, the cloth covers that usually hide the fluorescent bulbs in the hallway ceiling lights were completely missing, leaving the bulbs exposed, which looks a bit strange. However, the room was nice and comfortable. The TV and shower worked well, but I noticed the sink didn't have hot water. This issue seems to be a trend I've encountered at all the Aloft hotels I've stayed in; they really struggle to provide hot water. On the plus side, the housekeeping staff appears to do a good job in my room, and the amenities are typical for these hotels. The location is much cleaner and safer compared to the area near the airport, yet it's still less than five minutes away, so I recommend staying here instead. I would definitely choose to stay here again!
