The staff at this restaurant was amazing and very friendly. The afternoon tea included many delicious foods that made everyone with a different tea selection jealous. I can't wait to go back! View all feedback.
This tea garden is connected to an old glasshouse, tucked away in a remote corner of King George VI Park in Ramsgate. It exudes a charming and idyllic atmosphere that almost feels unreal. The prices are surprisingly low, less than half of what you would pay at Costa Coffee or Starbucks. The mismatched fancy china, delicious homemade cakes, and unpredictable opening hours (only open on weekends during nice weather, according to the website) add to its unique character. The proximity to basic refreshment huts filled with noisy beach-goers and dogs gives the place a magical aura, as if it only opens under special circumstances. The bathroom is decorated with lavender spindles and cute decorations, and they even serve complimentary Nice biscuits with your tea. While we were on our way to a pre-booked lunch, we enjoyed a slice of perfect Victoria Sponge and ogled some tempting carrot cake. The glasshouse has been closed on previous visits, leaving us disappointed. Local friends say it is open more often, but the tea garden is not always operational. It's best to call ahead or take a chance on a sunny weekend and hope for the best. Good luck!
This restaurant isn't always open, so be sure to check the website (and the weather) before heading there. However, when it is open, it's definitely worth a visit. The restaurant boasts beautiful surroundings and serves delicious food at reasonable prices. We recommend booking a table in advance, as it is quite popular.
My mom's favorite place for a picnic, even though we live 20 miles away. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food is excellent.

The Tea Garden, located in an old greenhouse tucked away in a secluded corner of King George VI Park in Ramsgate, is like something out of a dream. With prices lower than larger chain cafes, unique china, delicious homemade cakes, and unpredictable opening hours (they are only open on days with beautiful weather, according to their website), this charming spot offers a delightful experience. In addition to the free cookies served with tea, visitors can enjoy a range of sandwiches and tempting cakes. While we were disappointed to find it closed on a previous visit, locals reassured us that the greenhouse is often open, though the garden itself may not always be ready for customers. It is recommended to call ahead or take a chance on a sunny weekend and hope for the best. Overall, The Tea Garden is a hidden gem worth discovering. Good luck!
