Was John Jennings at Belle Vue Tavern a mag?
The Belle Vue is, in my opinion, the best pub in Thanet and probably my favourite pub of all time. Most recently, it has come under new managers and they have added a new dimension, with themed events and working closely with the community have made this a very special place for everyone. The steak night deal at £35, £45 for two served with a good bottle of wine is a winner, well done to the chef. I am 66 and travell... View all feedback.
What Sophia O'sullivan dislikes about Belle Vue Tavern:
This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had! I was shocked to find raw meatballs in my dish—what kind of chef serves undercooked meat? My husband’s pie was mostly made up of tough pastry and gray, unappealing mashed potatoes, all drenched in a thick, congealed sauce. By the time my meal was finally replaced—after a lengthy 15-minute wait—my husband had already finished his. Overall, it was a disappoint... View all feedback.

Overall, it was a disappointing experience that was unappetizing and potentially hazardous. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Food was banging. View to die for. Service brilliant. But gets too busy for staff. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
Went in on Sunday, hadn't booked and a lovely lady squeezed us in! The food was delicious. We had squid and panko prawns to share to start 2 starters) and then haddock and chips x 2 and the mussels! Really tasty food! Great friendly service, and we thought very reasonably priced. For the 3 of us with a pint of beer, pint of cider and a mulled wine, it came to £87. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fish and Chips with Peas
Very good food poor service would return though wonderful views over Sandwich Bay Price per person: £50–60 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4
The Belle Vue boasts a stunning location overlooking the sea, making it a great spot for dining and drinks, especially on sunny days. While some patrons rave about the delicious food and excellent service, others recount disappointing experiences with poorly prepared dishes and unprofessional staff interactions. The atmosphere varies greatly, with commendations for friendly staff clashing with reports of distracting conflicts among team members. Overall, The Belle Vue continues to capture attention, but it seems to be navigating a transitional phase that leaves visitors with varied impressions of its dining experience.

Tavern from the old time, a beautiful surprise for us, a part for the others. I didn't order to eat, but that was in order. the service that one lady said, my sleep, etc. fun for us. I wouldn't buy food.
This is an incredible place to enjoy a meal or just grab a drink. They also serve coffee. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The views from the outdoor seating area are breathtaking. Inside, there are several beautifully designed rooms that make you want to linger a little longer. The restaurant has its own parking lot right across from the building. I've noticed that dogs are welcome, which is a nice touch. I will definitely be coming back!
Pretty standard pub with amazing views. The pub is ok, it’s nothing to write home about, just your standard pub. There’s quite good parking too. The best bit, and the reason to come here, is the terrace with its views across Pegwell bay.
Been several times recently. Warm and welcoming. Staff are lovely and very helpful. We love the balcony restaurant the views out to sea are amazing in any weather. The menu is well thought out with gluten free options. Today I had the special of beetroot and goats cheese tortellini it was wonderful. Reccomend eating here all year round.
Excellent pub with fabulous views overlooking Pegwell Bay. Friendly staff. Covid-19 secure practices in force. Upstairs dining area with great views for when the weather is rubbish. Bar downstairs. Lovely, large, south-facing patio area when the weather is good. Outside patio area is first come first served. You can reserve tables inside for meals. Currently, the patio pizza service is Friday evenings, Saturday Sunday only. Well prepared, tasty food and a decent choice for vegetarians and vegans. There's a customer car park across the road. On a mid-week lunchtime it was about half full. As other reviews have said, finding a parking space at peak times may require a bit of planning. Highly recommended.
