What User doesn't like about Waraji:
Waraji is still the best sushi in Raleigh, no question about it! The boat we ordered was not only beautiful but also absolutely delicious. We had plenty to share, and we paired it with an excellent bottle of wine that complemented the meal perfectly. View all feedback.
We've been here 3-4 times, and it's always been fantastic. This time, we arrived early for our reservation and decided to start at the sushi bar. Before we knew it, our reservation time had come and gone, but we were enjoying ourselves too much to leave the bar. Naturally, we indulged in sushi. We began with a sampler and then started adding items to our order. I was especially excited about the bluefin tuna and mackerel that night. The mackerel was the best I’ve ever had! Its preparation made all the difference. Typically, this fish can be oily and have an unpleasant smell and taste—I even remember fishing for it in New York years ago, where it was often used in cat food—but this one was incredibly mild and delightful. The presentation was stunning, too. The bluefin was so fresh that it practically melted in my mouth. The sushi chef was friendly and shared plenty of insights while we were there. I didn’t indulge in drinks this visit, but they offer a nice selection of sake, including tasting flights. This restaurant stands out as a step above your average Japanese eatery, with a diverse menu featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients and excellent sushi. It’s definitely worth the trip; we drive all the way from Sanford just for this experience.

Great dinner as usual. only negative point, as usual, is the temperature which is kept too low by a wild air conditioning system.
Waraji easily has the best and most authentic sushi in the triangle.
