Incredible food, wonderful ambiance, easily one of, if not the best restaurant in Raleigh. Make sure to show up early, they do not take reservations (which I think is great, save the tables for the people who put the effort into showing up) and as one might imagine the wait time can be significant. The perfect place to sit with friends and order a wide variety of incredible small plates, a fantastic destination for a date, celebrating an occasion, or even just enjoying fantastic cuisine with friends.
The food was excellent. I love the open kitchen. large selection of drinks, including a delightful glow wines. the cross was phenomenal. the only part was popularity that the waiting period was quite long, but at least they can warm up next to a fire and enjoy a bottle of wine.
Quirky restaurant with amazing eating and service! I would say that I don't love this kind of reservation. warming up with a drink before the meal is the best way to begin the experience. eating is excellent and I couldn't keep my eyes away from the decorations. it was great.
We were grateful to arrive near the opening time of Stanbury and were seated within 10 minutes. The restaurant has expanded since my last visit, and I appreciated the space between tables. We ordered 5 small plates, all of which were delicious. The beef tartare was interesting, and became even more enjoyable after asking about it. There was a bit too much 1000 Island dressing, but the fried shoestring potatoes were fantastic. The lamb dish was amazingly tender, paired with pierogi. The bone marrow was just as good as I remembered, but the bread had a few burnt spots. The sweetbreads were perfectly fried, and the risotto was creamy. The beet chips and pickled apples added an interesting touch to the tuna. Overall, it was an excellent meal.
I had an amazing experience at The Stanbury. I visited with a friend and we enjoyed sharing some small plates. The shrimp and sausage and peppers were both delicious. The sauces on each dish had a perfect balance of flavor and just a hint of heat. I would recommend trying their sesame bread to soak up all the delicious sauces. The staff was friendly and our server was exceptional. She was very attentive and highly skilled. We will definitely be going back, as their menu changes regularly and we are excited to see what they have in store next.
