Compass Rose Brewery - Raleigh

The food here was surprisingly good. I had the lamb gyro with fries and some baklava for dessert and it was great. They also have normal nachos and burgers and stuff. Of course this is a brewery and the beer is very good. Tonight they had a DJ which was a little loud but I can understand that. We went outside where they have some great picnic tables set up, which were fantastic for one of the first cool evenings of fall.

Children, children everywhere! Parents oblivious to their yelling and running around and disturbing what might have been an opportunity to enjoy delicious beer in what should be an adult environment. Parents bring in stacks of pizza for tables full of kids. Maybe one beer at the table. Apparently, they use this beautiful place as their own birthday party or playdate get-together. Can't believe the management tolerates this. We finished our beer as soon as we could and got out of there. Won't be back unless things change. We have been there many times. It was great a great place to go, but it's now out of control thanks to parental abuse of the place.

We came for Star Wars trivia night and had a good time playing, however the beer and food were just ok. This is a really nice place as a venue, and they have several TVs around and a big projector screen. There were a number of board and lawn games available as well. For atmosphere, this is a fun place to be, but for beer, I don't think I'd want to try it again.

Very nice family restaurant! We had the chicken salad and a cheeseburger. Food was wonderful, couldn't do any beer for personal reasons, but will be back very soon!

Wanted to listen to music and try the new food but too crowded (7PM). Great for families—children running around everywhere, sliding under tables, have to watch where you are walking, parents ignoring them. Entire tables dedicated to kids games. What a zoo! Use to be a great local place to catch-up and have a beer.
