Our starter (the chef’s... read more From reviews I had high hopes for imaginative Sicilian fare. Some people describe the plates as beautiful, for me, they were overworked. Our starter (the chef’s ham and vegetables from the garden) was good and arrived with colourful “dots” of sauce over the plate. My primi (sardine ravioli) arrived covered in very similar, unnecessary, sauce “dots” that had spotted the starter. My partner had to dig through a tricolour of cream (tasted like cold cream to me), red and green sauces (with little or no flavour) to find his pork ravioli. A plate can look beautiful and not let the tastebuds down. Here, I feel that the chef is striving too hard for the former (and missing) and losing sight of the latter.

Staff was very cordial and welcoming, however most of the food lacked flavour, platting was impeccable. Most of the dishes lacked proper seasoning, one of us could not have salt with her food however it looked like all dishes then lacked the proper seasoning. Pasta with sea urchins was over cooked, striking the right amount of sea urchins is not easy, this one had too many. We also had two tuna steaks, in a fine dining restaurant like Gramole is aspiring to be you do expect to have smaller portions (rightly so) however one of the Tuna steaks had fat stings on the inside, which is not what one would expect given it was a small portion. Both Tuna steaks and the filet lacked the proper char on the outside, although the quality of the meat was good it looked like a piece boiled meat. With a bit of fine tuning this could be an amazing spot, huge potential.
