This restaurant is a beloved favorite in my family. The last time we visited was on Saturday, April 2nd. The service was excellent, placing our orders was straightforward, and the server was fantastic. And the food—oh my goodness, the food was amazing! View all feedback.
What Helen Flynn doesn't like about The Bull Pen:
I was served a BLT where the toast was burnt to a concerning level. One side of the bread was noticeably more charred than the other, and the cook had cleverly placed the more burnt side on the inside of the sandwich, clearly hoping I wouldn't notice. I get that standards have declined in recent years, but I paid £10.50 for that sandwich and expected much better. Service: Dine in. View all feedback.
What a great little counter with business and this place that had a nice breakfast. when I'm in the opposite, I'll be back.
Battlers green farm has a great butchers as well as small shops etc The restaurant is busy but you don't have to wait too long. The food is very good and there's a good choice. The staff are friendly but the service a little slow. The deserts are huge so leave room. Not too expensive compared with places of similar quality. Just popped in for a coffee and cake. There's now a new extension to the restaurant making it almost twice as big.
We eat out very frequently, but were shocked at the prices of everything on the menu and actually walked out before ordering. The prices are fair if in a central London, nice hotel, but outrageous for a mediocre cafe in Watford. We visited the bull pen several years ago and thought we would return for brunch. A full English was priced at £15.50 £17.40 with service charge) and a coffee £3.95 £4.40 wsc). My partner is vegetarian and often has a veggie breakfast, hoping for the same today. On the veggie breakfast there was no usual protein option of a veggie sausage or halloumi, but it seemed chips instead, for breakfast : Sadly we will not be returning due to the above and wondered if many had the same ideal as the place was very quiet given it was a wet Saturday morning, very sad!
The best thing to have here is their cakes. They have a fruit meringue which looks like an Eton mess. Best I have ever had... Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This place is so popular, mainly because it's a reliable staple in the community. The decor is homely and wholesome, and the food is basic but delicious. Prices are quite high, but you can sit and chat without being harassed to move on. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
