Staying at a marvellous place le Salamandre near Rabastens) I discovered this place runned by a couple with love for their clients and the food they serve. Staying at a marvellous place le Salamandre near Rabastens) I discovered this place runned by a couple with love for their clients and the food they serve. You might need to wait a little while before being served (thus not fit for speedy-stressed) but...this is part of the charm of the house. I ate a salad (avocat, mangue, roquette) and a dos de cabillaud à la plancha with vegetables and a purée de patates au citron. It was simply great (I am definitely going to try out the purée at home and all of this at a very reasonable price. If you are looking for a place to stay over I recommend warmly le Salamandre min from this resto). It is a lovely place in the midst of nature run by a Dutch couple also with lots of love and care. Enjoy!
We had a wonderful meal here a couple of weeks ago with our three small children. We turned up on a grey day not knowing what to expect but we were seated next to the lovely wood burner and the boys helped themselves to the...children’s books provided. There was a high chair for our littlest one and the owner who greeted us could not have been friendlier or kinder to us or our children. The food was delicious local produce, well cooked and beautifully seasoned and it was nice to have some choice for the kids too. We will go back again and again. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Booked Sunday lunch and were welcomed into a friendly atmosphere, with a glowing wood fire taking the chill off a damp autumnal day. We each chose the menu and selected different choices from the four or so available for each course. As each course...arrived we ate our own, and sampled the other. We both agreed, we would have been happy with any combination, so delicious was everything we ate! We spotted the restaurant at the side of the major road in the avenue of Plane trees on our first day in the area, but drove on by. We only wish now that we’d stopped by earlier! Thoroughly recommended!
We were lucky to find this delightful little place run by a husband and wife team. She's in the front and he's cooking. I was concerned she wouldn't be able to keep up with the rather full dining room but she's a professional! All our...food was delicious and when my kidneys came out overcooked she apologized profusely and replaced them very quickly. Cooked perfectly! We had just arrived in town and had no bread for breakfast the next morning. When I asked to buy a loaf she gave me one on the house! A lovely gesture, greatly appreciated. Thanks Marriette!
We were on our way to Toulose airport and found this place by chance. It's not a fancy place but it serves great food. The place was rather busy as there was only one person serving. We were worried that we may not be served...in time to get our flight. We mentioned to the lady that we had a flight to catch and she made note and gave us priority. The fixed price menu were or for a course meal. There were supplement to some dishes and it was well marked. The meal was excellent simple and good. I had a mango avacado salad topped with ghia seeds. My husband had salad with stewed pork topped with garlic eggs. It was rather unusual scrumptious. For mains, we both had beef with was cooked to perfection! It came with potato gratin and also had salt with rosemary was on the side. For dessert, the chocolate was home made had a lovely soft base. The lemon mousse was delicious as well Together with drinks, the meal came to just under which was excellent value. Definitely worth while going if you are around the area.
