I expected them to be soft, fluffy, and almost airy, but every morning I find that the top and bottom are as stiff as a board, while the center is cooked perfectly. I'm not sure how this occurs, but it might be a good idea to lower the heat when baking the biscuits. You want them to be light and airy, not hard and dry.
