The exterior that does not pay for a mine but excellent cuisine and abundant dishes with unparalleled freshness. To experiment absolutely for its warm welcome. Plat of the day Very fresh whole bar and presented as a painting.. View all feedback.
What Jean louis Censier dislikes about Ch'ti Quin Quend:
Country bistro based facility. We expect to eat picard dishes or even north pdc. The Corsican cuisine is good but as an example the cassolette andouillette is actually a potato break with little biting. A very expensive reflection for this dish. In some breweries for a lower price an entire andouillette is served with its accompaniment Certainly at the end we no longer hunger because copied but not original in the en... View all feedback.
We have been visiting this area regularly for over a decade, and it's rare to find a restaurant we haven't tried. We visited based on the TA rating and enjoyed it very much. The dining room has a hint of prefab hut about it but is pleasant enough. We were greeted by the owners in a friendly and welcoming way - the informal approach works well here. The food has twin themes - Sicilian and Piccardian ( if that's a word). The restaurant makes great play of the fact that all food is locally sourced and the quality shows- the choice on the menu was good and all dishes lovingly prepared and presented. The focus on locally produced food is backed up by the presence on site of a farmers/ artisan market once/twice a week. The starters in particular were gorgeous. Their take on warm goats cheese is not to be missed but be warned its main course size. The service is appropriately paced and all staff were charming. Wine list is reasonable and well priced. Really interesting and different from the standard restaurant in the area. Given that the general dining quality in the area is good, this stands out as well above average - will come again next year!
Less than 1 hour from Calais and just 6km from the beach resorts, this restaurant offers excellent, home-style cooking [home is Corsica for the patron] in a quiet rural setting. The patron and some of his staff speak good English so visitors should not be put off going to what is a very local restaurant. Menus [fixed price and a la carte] are good value and there are usually daily 'specials' available. One thing you will need here is a good appetite as the portions served are definitely not 'haut cuisine'.
Myself, my wife and our 2 small dogs stayed in a cottage in Quend and found Ch'ti Quin Quend (which is a play on words .. but the owner will explain that !!). It was a bit cold and the dogs were wet so we thought we should sit outside.. but we were invited to sit inside and the owner and his son were immediately very friendly and gave the dogs some water (and us come coffee!!). The next day we came in we asked if they had Croissants, but unfortunately they don't do this (they do excellent Corsican food.. but we were not around in the evenings to try this).. however the owner told us that if we want he will buy them for us when we come in the next day !! So from then on it was fresh croissants to go with our morning coffee. The owner and the son made us feel very at home, were very friendly to us (and our dogs!).The other locals were very inviting too. Highly recommended. Quend is a nice little village and is close to the very sandy beaches.
Fresh and local products, homemade cuisine, discovery of Picardy dishes, a treat. Very friendly staff. There should be more small restaurants like this all over France with local and homemade products.
