The best fish and chips I've had in a long time! The chips were nice and crispy, not soggy at all. The fish tasted fresh, not frozen, with a perfect batter and just the right amount of salt. The calamari rings were delicious as well. Everything was of great quality. I will definitely return when I'm in the Queenscliff area! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Q Fish Chippery:
We had several options, and I ordered the grilled fish burger, but they served me a fried fish instead. My friend had the same issue. The food was quite bland, and the service was strange. The most concerning part was the lack of hygiene; the server used their hands to pack our food, handle money, and then wiped some tools on their shirt. View all feedback.
Order a grass beds pack and two pieces of flathead, the whiting was delicous but the batter was poorly cooked, the flathead was average had definitely eaten better at other fish an chip shops the chips were ok nothing i would rave about and certainly not worth the $61 price tag for it all. All in all quite a disappointing experience at what could be a brilliant fish an chip shop
It's ade-Q-ate. The fish and chips I had from here wasn’t bad; just nothing exceptional. The beer batter on the fish was slightly claggy on the inside, but not enough to be bothersome. The fish of the day was flake, and it was flaky enough to be falling apart as I ate it, but that’s why we have forks, right? The stack of chips that came with it was substantial enough that I had leftovers to take home and reheat in my toaster over for a snack. There were a couple of so-so potato cakes in the Back Beach Pack $13.50) and the dim sim was large. It seemed like it was made in-house, and was definitely better than those MSG-laden greasebombs sold at South Melbourne Market. I still consider dimmies a poor adaptation of Chinese food. This joint has a nice setting to eat by the marina, so it’s an OK spot if you want typical seaside town fish ‘n chips. Their prices are lower than the slightly fancier seafood restaurant a few shopfronts down.
Order a grassbed pack and two pieces flathead, the whistle was delicous, but the teig was badly boiled, the flathead was average had definitiw better on other fish a chip shops the chips were ok nothing I would shave around and certainly not worth the $61 price tag for everything. all in all a rather disappointing experience, what a brilliant fish could be a chip shop
