Country Taste Cafe Store - Queensberry

We stopped in for lunch, what a surprise to get such a good lunch. I had the eye fillet with a couple of prawns. I order mid rare, and what a steak best I have had in years, cooked to perfection melt in your mouth. Hope to stop in again when heading back north. Great wine too.

We had a lovely lunch the other day. We were thinking it was more of a cafe, but when we walked in (we were the first to visit that afternoon I believe) we were warmly greeted by the owner. He spent plenty of time explaining the vineyard, location, and local Lord of the Rings locations. My wife is picky with her wine and his late harvest riesling was just the thing for her. I’m a beer guy, and he had Wanaka craft beer as well. Too cold for sitting outside, but it would have been a beautiful view. Not a quick lunch, but we weren’t in a hurry anyway.

We were welcome by a lovely cat the moment we stepped in to the restaurant. The owner came to greet us and came to introduce herself with warm welcome. This is also a great cellar door where you can taste wines and join wine tour. I ordered venison fillet for my meal, it was the best meat I've ever had so far, we enjoyed other dishes such as salmon and salad too. highly recommended!

Beautiful setting and lovely hosts. Wines from 5 different wineries to sample, and a full menu of food. Definitely worth a stop

Visited here a couple years ago with my boyfriend. Now we have a little family and often reminisce about how lovely the garden and wine tasting event we went to was! We had a pinot noir rose that was so so tasty. Thank you, from a couple of UK travellers in search of the real NZ wine experience, apologies this review has taken so long.
