What User doesn't like about Kay Bistro:
Great location but the flatbread we ordered was forgotten. I returned to the order counter. The cook and the cashier were both working their phones. I asked for my lunch. They looked at each other, opened the oven and there were cinders. So without acknowledging the mistake / screw-up the cook assembled another flatbread, tossed it in the oven and walked away. When it was ready, she placed it on a plate and tossed it... View all feedback.

This restaurant is located in the museum in Skidegate. The food there is excellent. We enjoyed a lovely seafood chowder. The portion size was perfect. There were large chunks of salmon, and other fish. You could taste the fresh herbs. Their signature dish is a fish taco which is served on a flat bread. The presentation is excellent. Well worth every penny.
Kay Bistro may have a small menu, but they excel in the dishes they offer. It can get crowded, particularly when tour groups are finishing up, which can slow down service. However, if you wait until the tour bus leaves, the service is excellent! Their flatbreads come in a few variations, with the smoked salmon being a standout choice. The chowder is also highly recommended. Keep in mind they close at 3:00 pm.

Slow service but excellent food. Prices reasonable, tasty food, and creative menu. Would be nice if the staff chatted more with guests than themselves.
