What User doesn't like about Frites Alors:
My wife brought me left-over Poutine. It was over 5 hours old and was unbelievably good. The gravy was amazing. That was from La Belle Patate in Victoria, and it set the Poutine quality level for me. I came to Quebec in hopes of having a better Poutine (and perhaps see some sights...). Sadly, the amazing Poutine experience has yet to happen. The Poutine at Frites Alors was salty, really salty. Decent poutine; I took mine to go which I think, made the fries a bit soggy. Next time I will sit down and eat in. I tried: - la Cochonne: Lardons maison

Went to this place after it was recommended by a local. Had the poutine with bacon, onions and various other items. It was excellent. Also had local beer here. Reasonably priced, friendly staff and casual atmosphere.
Loved this place! It was a great walk from the Old City through artsy neighborhoods. The food was priced very reasonably and there was a little outdoor seating. We had the pulled pork poutine and the lamb sausage poutine. Both were terrific!!
