If you like to eat with the locals then this is the place to go. Laid back atmosphere, great service lovely food. We all chose steak on the stone which was fantastic. Not over priced wine was very reasonable too. Works recommend.
Start off with the service. It was awful. Staff were new and had no idea of the menu. Wrong dishes sent to the table. That's not the bad part. We were given a salad to accompany the steak and salmon dishes. Halfway through the main one diner noticed live Beatles style insects on her plate. I checked the salad and there were loads of them crawling around the bowl. My gf started vomiting . I went up to tell the owner and he said it had nothing to do with him. He then proceed do start an argument in front of the whole restaurant. It's without doubt the worst experience we have ever had. When it came to settling the bill he insisted on charging full price . Even though 2 of the four of us had consumed the insects. I said I wasn't paying for the insect meals. Left it at that and walked out. Worst restaurant I've ever been to and probably ever will go to. STAY AWAY
Went there for dinner with a friend, I got fisherman's pasta which was the worst thing had in portugal. Pasta was overcooked and didnt look apetizing also the meal was overpriced and the quality was poor. Younger staff was friendly but the older man (im assuming the owner or someone in charge) was rude and it felt like he's doing us a favor by serving us. Also, that was our second try, we were looking to have dinner at antonio's a few week before that visit but the same older man who worked there was just eating his food at a table and told us to wait. we waited 15 minutes without any further aknowledgement so we just left. Prime location but the service and the quality ruined it. Will not give it a 3rd rty.
It was high season and getting late and the table with a view onto the beach promenade looked attractive. The waiter was was pushy and unfriendly, but that is nothing unusual in the Algarve. But even for a tourist trap, the meal "Pasta with Fish" was simply disgusting. We are convinced that the "fish" was in fact chicken (at least the texture was the same) but it had absolutely no taste, no flavor. Fortunately there were only homeopathic quantities of this "chicken fish" to be found in the dish. The rest was macaroni in thin tomato sauce. One star for the location.
