What User doesn't like about Restaurante Forte Novo:
Nicely located near the beach but there is no WI-FI (or it is turned off during certain hours) despite the clear mention to it at the entrance. It appeared to be ok for the waiter to advertise for WI-FI without actually having this service available to the clients. View all feedback.
We visited this restaurant while holidaying on the Algarve. Although it was relatively quiet, we found the staff barely acknowledged our existence....apart from setting down our food and collecting the money. The particular waiter seemed to be more interested to what was going on on...the road outside. We had to remind him on several occasions about parts of our order. One older' waiter , and I say older only in relation to the other waiters, was somewhat more friendly. It wasn't very clean and tables did not seem to be wiped after customers left. To prove the point of not giving us the customers much attention, our Bill did not include several items we had received, and usually I would draw this to their attention, but if they didn't value us enough in the first place, then they deserved to be at the loss!!!
3 hours of eatting Sardines for 8.50 euros per person, each of us ate 13 sardines. We arrived 12:15 pm and enjoyed; grilled sardines with boiled potatoes 8.50 per person. Great white wine, coffee and sweet for the both of us costing 35.00 euros with...tip. Be use to refuse the bread and olives otherwise you maybe charged for them. Beautiful veiw of the beach, no loud intrusive music or blarring t.v.......at the end of the road offering plenty of parking. Plenty of other great Portuguese foods available.
In summer this is a busy restaurant with its beachside location and garden area. We visited between Christmas New Year (low season). Simple Portuguese food with a strong accent on fish. A coat of paint inside and freshen up would not go a miss....Plenty of parking is a bonus though we're usually on bikes. Our grilled Dourada was well cooked and tasty. What was there to go wrong?
What a great experience. Fish as fresh as it gets, expertly cooked over hot coals ! Beautiful green lawn on the beach. Even the slightly slow service couldn't diminish the overall wonderful experience ! Can't wait to get back...
