One would pass by this little hidden gem of a place thinking that it is just another random building beside a Pennsylvania Dutch Farm. However, its simplicity belies the tasty treats and warm welcome within. They are very welcoming to cyclists and it's always a joy stopping in for their freshly baked and reasonably priced treats. What Michael G doesn't like about Sadie’s Bake Shop:
Searched out this 'bakery ' because of all the positive reviews at this site. What a mistake !!! This property is in the middle of nowhere. When we finally found this business we were greeted by an unlit basement. We had to ask if some lights could be put on so we could see what was available. I believe that at one time everything that was for sale was fresh ........... however, that must have been some time before w... View all feedback.
Make sure you check for the correct address of Sadie's Bake Shop. The old location in Narvon on Lambert Rd is out-of-date. The new location is at 313 Furnace Rd, Quarryville, PA 17566. So if you're visiting Strasburg or Quarryville (or anywhere in Lancaster County, they are worth a visit). Sadie's daughter Rachel retired and sold the business, including all the recipes, ovens, and equipment to a new owner. The new location is also on an Amish farm. The baked treats are excellent as always. We visited in August 2019 and bought chocolate, pumpkin and oatmeal whoopie pies, a blueberry pie, blueberry donut holes, and creme-filled donuts. Everything was delicious! The hours are 8am-4pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 6am-6pm Friday, and 8am-3:30pm on Saturday. They are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. The phone number is 717-786-1751.
I am sad to report that the original Sadie’s Bake Shop is no more. I visited on Saturday March 30, 2019 to find the business gone. I spoke with the family and they told me they sold the business! The new location is 313 furnace road, Quarryville, Pa. I attached a picture of the sign on the window for more information. I guess all good things come to an end...As I was leaving a car was driving up to go to the bake shop. When I told them what had happened they both started crying...
Sadie's Bake Shop is a gem! I went 3 weekends in a row. The blueberry knots are amazing, along with any donut!!! Seriously... she is worth the drive.

We 'll never go back.
Awesome little bake shop. Huge selection of donuts and baked goods Fridays and Saturdays. Highly recommended. Traditional Lancaster County Style.
