Was Anthony C at Roman's Pub a mag?
This place seems to have gotten some undeserved scorn. We went here for lunch today, were served promptly, and enjoyed our food. The wings were fresh, spicy, and just the right amount of crispy. The burgers were real beef and cooked as ordered. The fries were just okay, but who goes to a place for the fries? Anyway, I can't speak to how the nightlife here is, but as a lunch establishment it was perfectly adequate and... View all feedback.

What Phuong O dislikes about Roman's Pub:
I arrived for lunch around 1 PM, and the restaurant was completely empty. You would typically expect it to be busy during the lunch rush, which raised some concerns for me. I ordered the chicken sandwich, and it was decent. However, I was disappointed with the soda—it came from a fountain, which I dislike because it lacks proper carbonation. During my recent visit, I had mixed feelings—there were things I enjoyed, but also some disappointments. The bartender, Pat, was a lovely Thai woman who greeted customers with a genuine smile and enthusiasm. The bar offers a decent selection of beers, although I personally prefer craft beers; however, I understand that many patrons, particularly young Marines, prioritize quantity over quality. The food is still made fresh to order, which means it takes a bit of time, but it’s usually quite tasty. I ordered the Mantle Chicken sandwich, and while Mom accidentally made it spicy, I didn’t mind as I enjoy spicy food. However, I did notice some changes in portion sizes. The menu lists the sandwich as Chicken with Bacon and Cheddar, but it came with a thin slice of processed cheese—likely mild cheddar or American—and just one piece of bacon. In the past, there would have been more bacon and freshly sliced sharp cheddar. A few extra fries would have been nice too. Despite these observations, it's clear that they are doing something right by remaining in business where many others have come and gone. The food is fresh and flavorful, and the menu isn’t overly complicated. Pat is a delight to converse with while you’re there. I encourage you to check them out; they’re definitely worth a visit. Cheers!

Yesterday, I had the most disappointing experience at this pub due to the waitress. She was extremely unprofessional and rude, yet she explicitly asked for tips. To make matters worse, she added two extra beers to our bill. It's unbelievable! I can honestly say that we will never return there again!

Here's the thing about Roman's: It's owned by one woman and ran from top to bottom by that very same woman most of the time. It's important that people understand that entering the restaurant. With that being said, a little bit of a wait is going to be expected. The food is good for the price you pay, especially the wings. Like it or leave it. It's a QTown landmark.

It's kinda telling when you're one of two bars in a tiny town absolutely surrounded and closed off by a Marine Corps base yet you're almost empty on a Friday night... To some it might be a sign you're doing it wrong.
