La Verticale - Quan Hoan Kiem

La Verticale is probably the best translation of Didier Corlou's personality in cuisine and ambiance: high level but relax atmosphere. Wonderful meals with very fine taste and mixed spices, a cuisine we can enjoy with the eyes first, then with our buds. From West to East, the must in Hanoi!

I tried the lunch set menu. Only USD 11 for a 3 course lunch set. The portion was reasonable. The fish was great taste and not dry. Dont try the steak. The appetizer good portion. Ending with great dessert. The meal was good. Only problem was one of the Vietnamese staff service attitude not good. So if you come to this restaurant, just enjoy the food and dont pay much attention to their service quality will be ok. What can we ask for more with a lunch set only USD11. So their food was a 4 star but service is only 2 star.

Just us, no others. staff overall unfriendly. From sitting down to leaving, I got to say I was not feeling very comfortable. They tried to take away our unfinished dishes while we were still eating. I ended up leaving with displeasure.

Wow best meal in a long time to make sure you come here. Really thoughtful and creatively combined aromas and textures. attentive staff who managed to avoid being overlaid in a quiet night and finally a reasonable price compared to what I would have paid back home. Maybe not 100% traditional with a spice it and some local references.
