British Bites - Puyallup
British Bites
Description
Nestled in a charming corner, this restaurant offers a unique blend of British-inspired cuisine and whimsical decor reminiscent of popular culture, like Harry Potter and Dr. Who. While the atmosphere enchants with detail and warmth, the culinary experience has drawn mixed reviews. Diners enjoy light lunches and delightful desserts, such as the Cherry Bakewell Tart, but some lament rising prices and a decline in quality, particularly with scones and teas. Limited staff may affect service, so patience is essential. For a simple tea experience or an afternoon outing, this spot holds potential, albeit with a few areas needing improvement.

The food was decent, although it was quite different from what I'm used to, having grown up in England, which may have influenced my experience. The service was excellent, but I found it a bit expensive. As for parking, there are limited spots available out front, and with nearby competition, you might need to search for parking elsewhere.
Absolutely love it! This was our first time there and the food was great and excellent customer service. We'll definitely will be back soon.
Had lunch there recently. Been going here for a few years and sadly the magic is gone. The scones have gotten smaller while the prices keep going up $3.50 for a tiny scone and $2.50 for about a teaspoon of jam clotted cream). For comparison, these scones are probably half the size of every scone I had in England. They used to serve delicious loose leaf tea and now just a regular tea bag $5.50). Very disappointed because we used to love going there. Not really worth the trip from Tacoma now. Overall, for a very simple lunch I spent $28 for one person! including tip). I really wish they could do better, I am going to miss this place.
The ham and cheese pie, the sausage roll, and the cucumber and cream cheese sandwich were what we ordered. The food was really tasty. It was great to have the Buckingham Palace tea. The whole thing cost $26. The customer service was great. There's a small store inside with British candy and chips. It's decorated with things from British pop culture, like Dr. Who and Harry Potter. In the end, I will definitely go back and tell everyone to do the same.
Booked Afternoon Tea for two in September 2023. Emailed to make a reservation which was very easy and quick. The meal came with a pot of tea, and three tiers of food and dessert. All of the items were fresh and tasty and it was very filling. Overall a fantastic experience and I would recommend it.
