Contribute FeedbackThe Countryman Pub has received mixed reviews from customers. While some enjoyed the friendly staff, prompt service, and well-presented meals, others were disappointed with small portion sizes and subpar quality of food. The atmosphere was praised for being comfortable and welcoming. The menu seemed to be hit or miss, with some dishes not meeting expectations. Overall, the experience at The Countryman Pub varied depending on the individual visit, with some customers considering it a pleasant dining experience while others felt it was overpriced and lacking in quality.
Went to the countryman with out a booking Four people , one with mobility issues and a dog The staff are so friendly and happy and nothing to much trouble Food is reasonably priced , and well presented And of good quality Plenty of outside areas and is set up well for wheel chair users Would highly recommend ,if you haven’t been for a while give it a try You will not be disappointed
We stayed two nights here as a base to explore the area . Really happy we found this great place .. from the minute we checked in to the minute we left the landlord ,Justin ? and all the staff we met were friendly and helpful .. we felt nothing was too much trouble for them . The pub itself has a great beer garden both front and back and plenty of room inside . Our bedroom was large and comfortable with a high end range of tea and coffee in plentiful supply . Great menu that had a good selection to choice from . We ate in the pub both nights we stayed and the food was very good. (Though I was disappointed in the smashed avocado breakfast as the avocado was claggy and tasteless ,I should have said at the time though, as I’m sure it would have been no trouble to change it for something else The only other thing I’d suggest is maybe the windows , which look original, need a bit of care and attention in room 6 Fabulous stay though and would definitely recommend the Countryman Inn
This hidden gem is a biker friendly pub Grate food and reasonably priced. Plenty of outside seating with tables ideal for families . A good-sized play area for your children
I have been frequenting this pub and surrounding area for several years and have enjoyed a few weekend getaways here. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the food is delicious, and they offer a wide variety of beers and ales. The rooms for rent are clean, nicely furnished, and the beds are very comfortable. There is a great selection of quality tea and coffee available for guests to enjoy in their rooms. Additionally, the location of the pub is ideal for visiting nearby attractions such as Lulworth, Wareham, Corfe Castle, and Dorchester. What more could you ask for?!
We visited lunchtime today with our family that we are visiting, we all enjoyed our food and myself and son-in-law enjoyed a couple of pints of Otter real ale, the grandchildren enjoyed the outdoor play area, the pub was great and all the staff very friendly and welcoming. We hope to visit again soon.
