My favourite zoo in the world. The setting is as majestic as the animals. It only takes about 1.5 hours to view in full so you don’t get over-exposure fatigue. The education center adjacent to it about 1km is a beautiful spot to stay overnight (camp/cabins) and/or visit. Thanks to everyone involved in maintaining these places! View all feedback.
The zoo of belize surpassed my expectations – they really show the variety of belize with the focus on education and conservation. the zoots are retaliations of natural disasters, former victims of exotic animal trafficking, born in captivity, or rehabilitated problem animals. the housings are very natural and larger than most zoos I have visited. I enjoyed reading the personalized dense for each animal, and the origins as they came into the zoo. I really can't decide which animal my favorite was to see, but it's a great chance to see animals that they would rarely see differently. in the top 3 were the coat, brave and of course the jaguar. many wild birds and echsen will also come and go out of the zoo, so they keep their eyes peeled for this! the personal was very nice and the gift shop has a good choice and prices. there are also lockers to store their bags for free. my tips: bring bugspray and a zoom lens, and give them at least 3 hours to admire everything. when traveling by bus, time their visit by bus schedule (the zoo entrance is about 5 minutes to foot from the bus stop on the car and buses will be ready to mark them down when approaching.
Just. WOW. Well-maintained, cute, informative! Go around 3pm to find most animals awake active waiting for dinner)!

I can't say enough good things about this zoo. I really like that the animals are all native and there's so much information about them. The jungle was barely disturbed putting in pristine pathways. The exhibits are just sections of the jungle with a fence them. I love that the animals are in their natural habitat. Even though it's a small zoo, it is definitely worth a visit.
We LOVED it. All the animals are being rehabilitated, which is so great. Unlike other zoos, this setting truly is jungle. Down to the bugs (wear bug spray . There are amazing animals all around. Of course you'll love the leopard, toucan, and the snakes. But you'll be surprised and delighted be the other birds, like the Harpy Eagle, and the ocelots (listen to them grunt! , Owls (they'll hoot , and the pelicans (flapping to their wings like crazy in the water . Do take the time to read the signs, they are both funny and informative.
