Make no mistake, Les Tilleuls is a Tea room and you shouldn't go there expecting a trendy and modern atmosphere. I wouldn't go there for a date or a business lunch but if one day you pass by for a coffee/quick lunch, you won't regret it.I go there 2, sometimes 3 times a week for lunch and every time I'm amazed what this chef can do for only 20 bucks. I wish I could find more of such devotion in other places in the Lausanne area. Also, he does one of the best lemon pie I've tasted so make sure you don't miss it.
Superb newly taken over restaurant, very quiet and bright which also hosts a bakery and a grocery store with delicious products. The cuisine is refined, the service attentive and the prices defy all competition. I will come back with pleasure! A big thank-you!
I was there a few days ago. The girl that welcomed me was very nice and attentive. Coffee was ok. I took an online French course while there, so I spent a couple of hours. I was asked a few times if I wanted something else, so as I stayed for a while I ended up ordering a piece of cake and a glass of water. They brought mineral water which was charged almost the same as the coffee. I thought it was tab water as i did not receive the bottle, and was surprised at the end of the they for the amount i had to pay. Moreover, I was leaving and realised my card had been blocked so offered to pay by TWINT but wasn 't an option...offered to make a bank transfer as i did not have cash on me...this wasn´t an option either. The man that dealt with me (perhaps the owner who needs to work a lot on his manners to customers) was very rude, he replied: If you ever go somewhere to eat you are supposed to be able to pay. If you don 't have the money I will call the police. First of all i was trying to pay with the options i had, none of them were enough for this man, if you have a business you should have different payment options as everyone else have...second you got to be more gentle with customers...and third weird you didn 't speak any english (my french is good to get along, but got to be nicer with tourists and make an effort, everyone in Switzerland can understand at least basic English). Luckily I found my overseas card and made it through with that so this man could relax with the situation. Never coming back again, do not recommend.
